The Blog

In the introduction to this website I mentioned how my time at the BBC World Service taught me the value of 'the second pair of eyes'. As well as being invaluable when it comes to editing, simply sharing ideas can take us heading off in new directions. And it was a conversation with a former journalist colleague that led to my adding 'The Blog' section to this website.

 I frequently broadcast on Monocle24 Radio (accessible via https://monocle.com/) about various aspects of Russian affairs, and it struck both of us that such broadcasts (and not only those) could act as an inspiration for a blog.

 I have long held that there is no such thing as a bad idea. There may be crazy ideas; there may be impractical ideas; but exploring ideas can take us in exciting new directions. Please feel free to comment.
